Andre Granjo
Started learning clarinet at the age of 7 in the Banda Filarmonica da Mamarrosa. Went on to study clarinet at the Conservatories of Aveiro and Coimbra. In 1994 he started his degree in Anthropology at the University of Coimbra and was appointed conductor the Orchestra of the “Tuna Academica” of the University of Coimbra and in 1995 founded the Jazz Band of the University. Got his Master in Wind Band Conducting with Jan Cober at the Zuid Nederlandse Hogeschool voor Muziek (Maastricht) in 2005. He has appeared as guest conductor with different ensembles in Portugal, Spain, France, Holland and USA. Currently he is working on his PhD at the University of Coimbra with professors Jose Maria Cardoso and Christopher Bochmann and with the support of Mark Heron and Clark Rundell at the RNCM and Eugene Migliaro Corporon at North-Texas University where he is "visiting scholar" at the Wind Studies Department. He is a member of the Portuguese Ethnomusicology Institute (INET-MD), and is a teacher of the Master Program of Wind Band Conducting at the Piaget Colleges of Almada and Viseu.

Luís Filipe Granjo
Luís Filipe Granjo was born in Troviscal (Aveiro), Portugal in 1977. He received his early musical training at the Conservatório de Música de Aveiro and later studied at the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo do Porto. In 1998 and 2002, he was awarded a first prize with honors at the Purmerade Young Soloist Contest in Purmerand, The Netherlands. In 1999, he received the top rating for trumpet in the Prémio Jovens Músicos and was awarded a Gulbenkian Foundation scholarship. In the same year, he won the 2nd prize in the 1º Concurso de Trompete de Castelo de Paiva. In 2000, as member of the Capela Brass Quintet, he won a first prize in the Neerpelt Chamber Music Contest in Belgium. In 2002, he won the Fundação António de Almeida Prize for the best student in his school’s B. A. courses of that year. He has participated in master classes by Maurice André, José Augusto Carneiro, Maximo Spiga, Fred Mills, John Aigi Hurn, Philip Smith, Pierre Thibaud, Reinhold Friederich, Pasi Pirinen, André Henry, Eric Aubier, Pepe Orti, Hakan Hardenberger, Fritz Damrow, Pierre Dutot, and Allen Vizzutti. He has performed solo concertos with the Filarmonia das Beiras and the Orquestra do Festival de Música da Póvoa do Varzim. He is currently principaö trumpet with the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto da Casa da Música and teaches at the Conservatório de Música do Porto and at the Escola de Artes da Bairrada.
